INSPIRATION: US Vogue Editorial, "The Warrior Way"
I am loving this ediorial shot by David Sims. This is the most gorgeous thing I've seen in a bit. Avatar is having a huge cultural impact this season. Jean-Paul Gaultier was quoted saying it was part of his most recent Couture collection inspiration also. Although some people I know are not obsessed with Avatar, I am, and clearly the fashion industry is feeling it as well!

AT THIS STAGE IT IS INAPPROPRIATE TO COMMENT ON THIS TRAGIC NEWS BEYOND SAYING THAT WE ARE DEVASTATED AND ARE SHARING A SENSE OF SHOCK AND GRIEF WITH LEE'S FAMILY.

This is a terrible, sad day for not only, but especially, aspiring fashion designers. His show is always one of the highlights of Fashion Week, and his death came to soon; we were all waiting on the edge of our seats for what was to come next. The last season was by far one of the most beautiful and inspiring collections, and his work with Lady Gaga are definitely history book worthy. On the opening day of New York Fashion Week, this season is sure to take on a somber aura as his biggest fans look back on his work and life.
